Here at Forge Cottage you can relax and re-charge or you can have an adventure with lots of outdoor activities as well as beautiful and historic places to visit. Scaling Dam Reservoir is opposite, with water sports including paddle-boarding, kayaking, wake-boarding, sailing, open water swimming and fishing.
Just steps away, you have a welcoming family friendly pub, complete with an outdoor play area and mini golf, which also serves freshly prepared local food. Situated on the main road leading over the moorland to the coast, you are less than a 20-minute drive from the coastal towns and villages of Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Saltburn, all ideal for days out, with golden beaches, quaint harbours and incredible scenery to discover.
You also have the vast North York Moors National Park surrounding you, with walking and cycle trails to explore. This is a wonderful destination all year round.
There is storage nearby in a locked large shed perfect for paddleboards, bikes, motorbikes or even boats by prior arrangement with the owner.
The beach is just 5½ miles away.
